Skandia Folkdance Society's primary purpose is to document and preserve the traditional dances and music of the Nordic lands (namely, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden).
Skandia values diversity and inclusivity. We strive to create a welcoming, safe, and positive environment where everyone feels valued and is treated with respect. Whenever we meet, we want everyone to be able to share happily in the joy of Nordic dance, music,
and social connection. We welcome people of any ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, education level, financial status, disability, background or experience level to participate, whether partnered or solo. We are all responsible for taking actions, large or small, to cultivate this welcoming, safe, and positive environment.
